Where Oh Where have I been? King's Cabin

Our Glamping Assistant was so excited for the chance to visit King’s Cabin, having dreamed of doing so ever since it first joined the portfolio – it’s the most charming getaway, tucked away in the trees with countryside views and a bubbling hot tub for stargazing from its raised deck.

It ticks all of the boxes.

There’s a bubbling hot tub to relax in.

It’s hidden away up in the trees.

With stunning countryside views.

And nature all around.

‘Wow! King’s Cabin is THE place to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life for a few days (or more if you have the time!). It was just amazing from start to finish. Pull into the parking area, grab your bags and follow the path through the woodland to your hideaway cabin (passing it’s brother, George Cabin along the way – don’t worry, both face away and are private from each other – although would be a great way for two couples to holiday together and still have their own space).

A true rural retreat, the cabin is rustic yet stylish and comfortable, and so far away from basic – the lovely owners have thought of everything and have a great attention to detail. I loved the hand-made copper features such as the taps and, the kitchen may be small, but there’s all you could need to rustle up a yummy meal. On the subject of food, the local pub is within walking distance (around 10 minutes) and is highly recommended (make sure you book though!) – you can even head there for breakfast. The king-size bed is not only comfy but enjoys the views out over the deck and beyond, and the wood-burner is great for cosy evenings in.

The hot tub was, of course, a big highlight – what a way to end the day, G&T in-hand, watching the sun go down, the breeze rustling through the leaves and the stars coming out above – total and utter bliss! And you must go for a walk – the owner has dotted blue arrows around the grounds, to guide you on a circular walk, through the trees, passing a small quarry and with plenty of wildlife to spot along the way. Just such an idyllic place escape to.’
