Lamorna Glamping, Lamorna, Cornwall
Bluebell, Buttercup and FoxgloveThree delightful safari tents, each with plenty of room for up to six people plus a baby, set in an eight-acre field with glimpses of the sea – what’s not to love! Also within that spacious field are a children’s play area (compete with trampoline, swings, slide, mini sand-pit, outdoor games, badminton rackets and more!) and a fabulous building named ‘The Shed’ – but, boy, is it oh-so much than that! Firstly, it contains an undercover games-room – perfect for keeping the kids entertained on a rainy day – with a mini pool table, table tennis and table football. Secondly, it has a handy honesty-shop, chock full of necessities as well as scrummy treats. And last, but certainly not least, there is a cinema-room, with seven proper cinema seats, Digi box and DVD player! All that and you can walk to lovely Lamorna Cove with its sandy beach too, a perfect family retreat.
Western Meadows, near Launceston, Cornwall
Honeysuckle, Celandine and CampionAnother set of three super safari tents, sitting proud in a 3.5-acre wildflower meadow, each comfortably sleeping up to six people plus a baby. As well as each terrific tent being perfectly equipped for all your family glamping holiday needs, there is lots on offer outside too. At the bottom of the meadow, within safe viewing distance of the tents, are a couple of swings and a trampoline – perfect for the kids to let off steam on. There’s also a burbling stream at the bottom of the meadow – why not have a paddle or try your hand at fishing – and a communal fire-pit for rustling up a scrummy barbecue or toasting marshmallows of an evening. You’ll find an honesty shop on-site here too and, just steps away, is the fabulous New Mills Farm Park – a great place to spend the day with the family before returning to your idyllic retreat.

Glamping at Chymder, near Mullion, Cornwall
Hobie, Woody and RustyTwo more fabulous safari tents, each sleeping up to 6 plus a baby, and a third with a twist – a tin tent! – sleeping up to 4 plus a baby, all set in a wonderful wildflower meadow. Within the farm’s 12 acres, there is plenty of space to let off steam – why not fly a kite or enjoy a picnic – or adventure into the small wooded copse with its rope swing and hammock – endless fun! There is also an ingenious ‘herb boat’, perfect for collecting your seasoning before enjoying a scrummy barbecue, cooked at the communal fire-pit (toasting marshmallows or making s’mores is a must too!). The on-site honesty-shop has a mix of home-made and local produce, including delicious cakes and frozen pasties (for that ultimate Cornish supper!), as well as everyday essentials from eggs to bacon – yum! All this, and there is plenty to see and do nearby too – from brilliant beaches for surfing and coast paths for walking to old fishing villages for exploring.
Roseland Valley Retreat, near St Mawes, Cornwall A little different to the others but equally brilliant, Roseland Valley Retreat consists of an African-style log cabin and a romantic safari tent, sleeping up to 6 people plus a baby in total. There is so much to keep the whole family entertained here, the owners really have thought of everything to make the most of the stunning grounds. There are 30 acres of lovingly tended farmland to explore – including an enchanted wood with rope swings, leading to a fire-pit and football goals in one direction and a peaceful lake (with an abundance of wildlife to see) and meandering mown paths through fields, to secret picnic spots and a hideaway hammock in the other. There are numerous sandy beaches just a few miles away, as well as the Lost Gardens of Heligan and other beautiful Cornish gardens, tree-lined creeks, waterside villages and picturesque harbours.
