Glamping in Devon: Enjoy a slice of country life in our really rural shepherd's hut. Complete with a hot tub, fire-pit and its very own fishing lake, this unique destination combines glamping luxury and down-to-earth tranquility.

General

Beautiful views of the rolling fields of north Devon are just the start of a glorious getaway at Hayley's Hut. Its sheltered location, in a copse of trees by a serene lake, ensures privacy and quiet - a place for you to unwind and recharge, miles away from day-to-day concerns. Add to that an awesome hot tub, where you can relax with a glass of bubbly while gazing up at the night sky (no light pollution here!), and a fab fire-pit for cooking al fresco - and you've got yourself a heavenly setting. Hayley's Hut is set on a working dairy farm, so pull on your wellies and enjoy the experience of the muck and mud of the barns, the farm and the surrounding areas, especially in the winter. Driving to the hut leads you through the heart of the farm, so you'll meet Bruce, the cute little farm dog and see the cows up close and personal when they're waiting to be milked.

Inside this high-quality hut, kept cosy with a warming wood-burner, you'll find all the mod-cons you'd expect from a luxury camping experience, including a cleverly planned kitchen that features a fridge, two-ring gas hob and slow cooker, and an en suite shower-room with a proper flushing WC and plenty of hot water. There's a spacious dining area where you can make the most of your breakfast hamper of juice, granola, bread, eggs, bacon and sausages and in the evenings - here's the incredibly clever part - the dining table folds smoothly away so you can pull the double bed down, ready for a great night's sleep. Above you, set within the curving roof, is a stargazing window - so you can count the constellations instead of counting sheep. What could be more relaxing?

Out and About

Bring your own rod if you'd like to fish the well-stocked lake by the hut, and then, when you feel like exploring, the dramatic cliffs and rocky coves of the north Devon coast are just a short drive away. If you want a sandy beach (great for exercising your four-legged friend) try Instow or, at low tide, Westward Ho! Join the South West Coast Path at Bucks Mills or Hartland Point for an invigorating walk, head inland for a ramble in the Dartmoor National Park, or visit nearby Clovelly, a picturesque fishing village where donkeys pull provisions up and down the steep, cobbled streets in lieu of cars.

Layout

Open plan living-room with kitchen, dining and bedroom areas. Wood-burner, 2 ring gas hob, slow cooker, fridge, toaster, kettle and double bed (4'6'') with stargazing roof. Shower-room with shower, WC and wash-basin.

Extra Information

Due to the nature of the completely unique rural setting on a working dairy farm, it would be wise to take your wellies along and leave the Ferrari at home, as there may well be a bit of good old 'muck and mud' as you drive between the barns/get out and about exploring the farm and surrounding areas, especially in the winter months.
