Wagon in Cornwall: Full of wholesome country charm, our unique former steam engine driver's wagon is a dreamy destination designed especially for two.

General

Sweetly appealing and cute-as-pie, Blackberry Jack's Wagon is a little gem of a romantic retreat. Perched in a delightful orchard that's quiet and peaceful, its only near neighbours are the donkeys who live in the adjacent field. Though located within the grounds of the owners' home, it's perfectly private and undisturbed. So what exactly is this wonderful wagon? Once the accommodation for the driver of the steam engine (named Blackberry Jack) that pulled it along from place to place, now it's a heavenly haven for anyone looking to unwind and relax. A barrel-topped beauty in green-painted timber with bold red wheels, it has its own decked outside area that's ideal for a coffee and a book or a little light sunbathing (or even napping). Inside, the open plan room features a bespoke double bed with storage beneath, a handy wardrobe, wall-mounted TV/DVD player, and a fold-down table with a pair of comfy wicker chairs. In cream and white, with ruffly gingham curtains and vintage-style bed linen, it's the picture of prettiness, and cosy, too, with a wood-burner effect electric stove to add to your comfort. Just a few steps away, past your garden furniture and BBQ, is the little cabin that houses all your extra amenities. Here you'll find a fitted kitchen with two-ring hob, fridge, microwave, kettle and a washing machine, as well as a dining area and a decent-sized shower-room with a shower and slimline wash-basin. A flushing loo and hot and cold running water are all included, naturally, as part of this luxury camping experience. At the back of the cabin, accessed from outside, there's a storage area for bikes, surf boards or any other bulky items.

Out and About

Whether it's walking, surfing, cycling or simply taking in the sights, this irresistible bolthole is perfectly placed for exploring the attractions of north Cornwall. The village of Porthtowan is just two miles away, with gift shops and cafés, a sandy beach and the much-loved Blue Bar. A short drive takes you to trendy St Agnes, where you'll find cool bars, boutique shops and loads of great places to eat. If you're feeling energetic, why not get pedalling along the tramways trails and venture as far as Portreath or Devoran? You could try a takeaway barbecue box from the award-winning Etherington Farm Shop, or eat at the friendly Treleigh Arms. Or simply relax and while away the time in your irresistible wagon made for two...
