Shepherd's hut with hot tub in Cornwall: If you are seeking country chic twinned with rural relaxation, look no further than The Lion's Den. This super-stylish shepherd's hut is just perfect for a romantic getaway or a fun family break.

General

The Cornish hamlet of Warleggan, once dubbed the remotest village in the county, has an otherworldly feel. So magical, in fact, that its town sign proudly proclaims that it's twinned with Narnia, CS Lewis' mythical land where Aslan the lion is the benevolent ruler. Welcome to the magical Lion's Den at Warleggan (and guess what - it's even got a wardrobe!). Set in 12 acres of idyllic countryside, this super-high quality shepherd's hut is just the place to chill out and recharge from a hectic world. Built along the lines of a traditional shepherd's hut, but with extra space, the Den boasts an open plan format with living, kitchen and dining areas, plus a comfy king-size bed at one end and sturdy bunk-beds at the other. Painted in fashionably muted shades with pops of brilliant colour, it's Insta ready with a look that sleekly blends traditional country with the latest trends. Included in all your mod-cons are a sleek kitchen with an oven/microwave, two-ring hob and full-sized fridge, plenty of cupboard space, a cosy wood-burner in case of chilly evenings - and even a proper, separate shower-room with heated towel rail, loo and hot and cold running water. With gorgeous views of the rolling fields and woodlands of the Glynn Valley, and nothing to disturb you but the occasional sounds of wildlife and birds, The Lion's Den is perfect for anyone who appreciates the charm of the countryside, perhaps relaxing in a lounger with a book and a cup of tea, drinking bubbly in the hot tub while admiring the view or toasting marshmallows over the fire-pit and planning the next day's adventure under the stars (well this is a designated dark landscape area!). Whether it's a couple's retreat or a fun holiday with the kids, you may even bring your four-legged friend to join in.

Out and About

From Warleggan you're bound to want to roam the wide open spaces of Bodmin Moor, where quaint villages are interspersed among the unspoilt scenery of dramatic granite tors and open moorland. Walk or cycle around the extensive Cardinham and Lanydrock Woods, both just a short drive away, tour the impressive Lanhydrock House, enjoy the cottage garden at Pinsla or, if waves are your thing, try the surfing centres of Polzeath and Widemouth Bay on the north coast or the sailing town of Fowey on the south. From this luxury retreat in the heart of Cornwall you're perfectly placed to explore in every direction.
