Glamping in Cornwall: It's magical, unmissable and totally unique. Be prepared to be amazed by the luxury and charm of our African-styled log cabin that comes with its very own romantic safari tent.
It's not often we tell people to BOGOF, but at Roseland Valley Retreat it's all about 'Buy One, Get One Free'. Because as well as a luxury log cabin that's spacious, stylish and totally scrumptious, you get a super-duper safari tent for two. And guess what? There's not one hot shower, but two (one indoors, one outside. This really is glamping with knobs on.
In complete harmony with its natural surroundings, Roseland Valley Retreat is truly peaceful and secluded. It's set in its very own meadow: think meandering mown paths, rope swings and a fire pit for sunset barbecues. Get close to nature and explore the 30 acres of lovingly tended farmland that surrounds this gorgeous spot, wander through the enchanting woods or simply relax and gaze at the gorgeous views over a peaceful lake, drinking in the sights and sounds of local wildlife as you relax.
Inside, your timber home-from-home is a spacious, open plan delight, boasting appealing African wood furniture and dashes of vivid colour. There's a large, comfy sofa, armchairs piled with cushions, a super-king sized bed and matching twin beds. The generous kitchen-area has a full-sized gas hob and oven, and a fridge with freezer box (ice cubes for that g and t!), and you'll love the shower-room with its double shower cubicle, wash-basin and proper flushing loo. There's a warming wood-burner in case you need it, and with double glazing and full insulation you'll be cosy whatever time of year you visit.
Outside, you can while away your evenings with a meal and a glass of wine at the decked dining area, or sit and chat on the upholstered outdoor sofa. The irresistible extra is just steps away - a genuine East African safari tent, tucked under an oak tree and overlooking the lake - which houses another super-king size bed for a truly romantic night under canvas. And with two feather and down duvets you won't feel a chill. There's also an open-air shower room with wash-basin (with hot and cold running water!) for anyone who fancies an al fresco drench, and even an outdoor vanity unit for a quick (but cold) splish splash.
Out and About
Whatever style of holiday you're after, this place has it all. Several sandy beaches are just a few miles away, as are the Lost Gardens of Heligan and other beautiful Cornish gardens such as Caerhays, Trewithen and Lamorran House (the latter is summer only), while the amazing Eden Project is also close at hand. Explore tree-lined creeks and waterside villages, picturesque harbours and inland country walks and, when you need to refuel, take in the farm shops selling local produce, and all sorts of eateries ranging from beach cafés (don't miss The Hidden Hut, by the coastal footpath at Porthcurnick beach) to great pubs and fine dining restaurants such as The Idle Rocks and Tresanton hotels in nearby St Mawes.
The Cabin has an open plan living-room with kitchen, dining and bedroom areas. The kitchen-area has a gas cooker, fridge and kettle. Sitting-area has a wood-burner and the bedroom-area has a superking size bed, twin beds and flat screen DVD player. Shower-room with double shower, WC and wash-basin. A few steps outside lead down to the Safari Tent with superking size bed and open air vanity unit (cold water). A very short walk takes you to the quirky open air shower-room with shower and wash-basin (hot and cold water).
Please note that during the winter months, between October through to the middle of March, the safari tent bedroom is not available therefore Roseland Valley Retreat accommodates 4 + cot during this time (the pricing therefore reflects this). Please take care with children around the lake.
