Clifftop Cabin in Cornwall: Take time out of real life and experience the magic of our incredible cabin on the cliffs, boasting out-of-this-world views and a unique ambience. A little bit retro, a great deal cosy - and definitely heavenly.
There aren't many words to describe the jaw-droppingly beautiful views from Rockwater Cabin. But we're going to try anyway. Breathtaking. Superb. Stunning. To die for. Unreal. Awesome. Are you getting the drift yet? To put it simply, from this clifftop perch there are gorgeous panoramic views overlooking the sandy curve of Whitsand Bay, in an unspoilt corner of coastal Cornwall. Nothing but sea, sky, surfers and seagulls as far as the eye can see. And maybe the occasional dolphin or porpoise bobbing along in the waves, or kestrels and falcons swooping below you as you sip a sundowner on your spacious and very private deck.
Literally off the beaten track, the cabin can only be reached by a little path that's 100 yards from the coastal road. If you want seclusion, this is the place for you. Built in the 1930s (and lovingly renovated over the years), it's timber-clad on the outside and whitewashed all over on the inside for that bright and airy feel. Filled with all sorts of prettiness, from fairy lights and bunting to sea shells and vintage finds, it has a calm and peaceful atmosphere that will wash over you from the moment you step through the door. You'll love the tiny kitchen where you can catch the morning sun while you whizz up some scrambled eggs on the gas cooker (there's a microwave and a barbecue to enhance your culinary pleasure, too). A cute dining-area is perfect for romantic suppers (taller people will learn to mind their heads!) and the dinky sitting-room has a vintage-style gas stove that will keep you cosy even in a wintry storm. There's an ultra-smart, all-white shower-room (hot and cold water and a flushing loo, of course) and two bedrooms, a single and a double, both with seasidey blue and white striped linens and blinds to separate them from the sitting-room. Did we mention the views? From the master bedroom they are truly magnificent. Breakfast in bed? That would be a Full English . . .
Out and About
Often referred to as the 'forgotten' part of Cornwall, the area around Rockwater is thrilling - beautiful, intriguing and unspoilt. Adventure down the steep cliff track from the cabin and you'll find three miles of sandy beach, while the coastal path is right on your doorstep, as are a host of pretty towns and villages. Kingsand and Cawsand, for example, offer cobbly streets, coloured cottages and heaps of pubs and cafés: a real step back in time. Alternatively, you'll be charmed by the working fishing town of Looe and can wonder at the grandeur of the Mount Edgcumbe, Port Eliot and Anthony Estates. At the end of the day, it's just a hop, skip and jump back to your clifftop idyll for a relaxing evening and a quiet night's restorative sleep. And… breathe . . .
You enter into the galley kitchen which leads off to the shower-room and dining-area. The galley kitchen has a gas cooker, combination microwave (with convection oven and grill) and fridge with ice-box. The shower-room has a shower, WC and wash-basin.
Both the second bedroom with single bed and the sitting-area lead off from the dining-area. The sitting-area has a TV, DVD player and a coal-effect gas stove. The master bedroom has a double bed and leads off from the sitting-area.
