General
Like the idea of a get-away-from-it-all break but don't want to let go of your home comforts? Then we have the perfect solution for you! Buttercup offers luxury camping under the stars, with your very own wood-fired hot tub, in a fabulous rural spot with sea glimpses in a warm, dry and snug safari tent, with proper beds, comfy sofa, large dining table, instant hot water and more. What are you waiting for...
Buttercup
A hop, skip and a jump from stunning Lamorna Cove AONB, you will treasure a holiday at brilliant Buttercup for years to come. Step up onto the decked veranda and enter straight into this spacious safari tent, complete with two cosy bedrooms (one double and one twin) towards the back and a cute double cabin bed (the kids will be fighting over this one!) in the main, spacious living area. With a delightful sunny yellow theme throughout, all your needs have been catered for - there is a kitchen area with wood-fired range (doubling up as both the cooking and heating appliance, ensuring year-round cosiness), Belfast sink, farmhouse-style dresser, larder fridge and all the equipment you could need to rustle up a scrumptious supper. But that's not all, there's a squishy sofa, coffee table, dining table with room for all and even WiFi and a power socket (for charging your devices or boiling the kettle, for that all-important morning cuppa).
Totally unlike its distant cousin camping, glamping means no trekking over wet grass or muddy ground to get to the shower or loo. Buttercup has the luxury of its very own en suite shower-room (with large cubicle and hot water) and a separate WC (again, with hot water and a proper flushing loo).
Outside, many an hour can be spent on the covered deck or in the meadow itself, relaxing on the sun loungers, having a snooze in the hammock, dip in the wood-fired hot tub or cooking up a storm on the two-ring camping stove or fire-pit barbecue (provisions and yummy treats can be purchased from the on-site honesty-shop), taking in the stunning views over Lamorna Valley to glimpses of the sea beyond. Buttercup's sibling tents sit either side, positioned and designed with each other's privacy in-mind, in the super-large car-free meadow (the parking area is just behind the tents and handy wheelbarrows are provided to help transport your luggage to the tent). There's even a handy shared laundry-room (with washing machine and tumble-drier, use of which comes at a small charge - payable to the owner).
Fun for All
It's not just the tent and its facilities that make Lamorna Glamping a super-wonderful destination - there's lots more on offer here. For starters, there is an absolutely fabulous undercover games-room (with mini pool table, table tennis and table football), cinema-room (with Digi box, DVD player and 7 proper cinema seats!), outdoor play-fort and trampoline, which the young (and young at heart!) will love. For the adventurous, you are welcome to explore the surrounding 90 acres of farmland, where you may bump into livestock (take care!), the odd tractor (the meadow does edge onto the main farm entrance, so please be aware as the odd car or farm vehicle may pass by) or the owners' friendly dogs, cats or Silver the horse and Tommy and Freddy the Shetland Ponies. You may come across the man-made lake, which has amazing views over the valley, and a short stroll through woodland takes you to down to the beautiful Lamorna Cove, with its sandy beach, small quay and café (canoes can be hired here too).
Out and About
If you feel like jumping in the car and venturing further afield, there is so much to see and do within easy each. The renowned Minack Theatre is a must-visit, as is its close neighbour Porthcurno, with its white sandy beach and turquoise waters, popular Land's End and surfers-favourite Sennen Cove. The delightful harbourside village of Mousehole, with its quirky shops, galleries and great restaurants and pubs, lively seaside town of Penzance, grand St Michael's Mount and famed town of St Ives (with its seven beaches) are all close by too. Or perhaps you will prefer to take a walk along the South West Coast Path before returning to your idyllic retreat - the choice is yours!
