Go up, up and away among the whispering leaves, in a tree-top cabin that's literally off the beaten track. When your glamping getaway combines idyllic rural views with stylish comfort, you know you're in a little corner of Cornish heaven.
You'll be lulled like a rockabye baby in this treetop cabin - but no worries, when the wind blows you'll be super-snug in your cosy retreat, because this clever little number is more than just a tree house: it's a romantic hideaway with all mod cons, including heating, WiFi, a TV and an en suite shower-room.
Decidedly spacious and definitely stylish, the Cabin at Wrinklers Wood features an open-plan living room with a comfy double bed, a generously sized sofa and a round dining table and two chairs. There's also the cutest little kitchen, with an electric cooker (2 ring hob and mini oven), microwave, fridge, cupboards and mini Belfast sink. Bespoke, hand-built furniture mingles with thoughtful touches, like the goose down duvet and the wood-burner effect electric stove. And of course that's not all - a private shower-room completes the picture, with a hot shower, wash-basin, heated towel rail and proper flushing loo.
For just this trip, you'll be leaving your Porsche at home, because the fun starts with a long (at times narrow and bumpy) track that takes you to your parking space park and a little tree-lined lane that wends its way down to the cabin. Didn't we say it was off the beaten track? All the better to escape the ho-hum of the humdrum nine-to-five… And escape you will, because your house on stilts is tucked into a sheltered hillside, with a wraparound deck on which you can sit and enjoy the views over a pretty woodland glade, where the lawn is bordered by a bubbling stream and a pond fringed by reeds and majestic plants. Just across the garden, the owners are on hand to show you around and answer any questions, but you'll be left alone to relax in peace and quiet. Read a book, play a board game, snooze, chat, gaze into the distance and listen to the birdsong or, at night, count the twinkling stars as they come out one by one. What could be more perfect?
Out and About
Despite its gorgeous rural solitude, the cabin at Wrinklers Wood is only a mile from the pretty hamlet of Mithian - which has a fabulous old pub - and just two miles from the bustling coastal village of St Agnes, a foodie haven that's also well known for its surfing (go dudes!) and awesome cliff and coast path walks. If exploring beaches take your fancy, the sandy surf spots of Chapel Porth, Porthtowan and Perranporth are all within five miles; you'll love their chilled bars and cafés, as well as their breathtaking views of spectacular summer sunsets and, in winter, crashing, stormy waves.
Open plan living-room with kitchen, dining and bedroom areas. Double bed, Wood-burner effect electric stove, TV, electric cooker (2 ring hob and mini oven), microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle. Shower-room with shower, WC and wash-basin.
