Shepherd's Hut in Cornwall: Beautifully hand-crafted with consummate skill and an eye for quirky detail, this bespoke shepherd's hut is an absolute delight.
Everything has been meticulously planned, from the long, low corner windows which give a breathtaking view from the comfort of the extra long (7'6'') bed to the hand-crafted wood-burner ensuring toasty warmth whatever the weather outside. Vintage light fittings and reclaimed wood cladding contrast with a contemporary stainless steel work surface while Ercol chairs, hand-made cushions and patchwork quilts add comfort and a touch of retro homeliness. Tucked into a sheltered tree-lined nook above a wooded valley, the views from the hut and the outside deck-area stretch for miles, encompassing the wild walks and ancient tors of Bodmin Moor in the far distance. Largin's Shepherd's View is set within Largin Farm, close to picturesque fishing harbours at Polperro and Looe and sandy south coast beaches. The Owner's 35 acre small-holding has a small herd of Friesian cows and around 100 sheep, adding a touch of authenticity to this gorgeous little bolthole. They offer three Bed and Breakfast bedrooms in their farmhouse (so know a thing or two about hospitality) and provide a breakfast food basket for their shepherd's hut guests, a scrumptious feast of home-made bread, eggs from their own chickens and bacon from a local farmer as well as milk, tea and coffee. Heading home from a day of exploring, comfort is assured in the hut with the comfiest of mattresses, piles of cushions and fully double-glazed windows. The kitchen-area has a gas hob, a little oven and a fridge to keep the fizzy chilled, while the en suiteshower-room has a heated towel rail keeping it gloriously snug, all ensuring a perfectly restful and relaxing glamping experience. Please note, a young baby under six months old is accepted at Largin's Shepherd's View.
