Airstream with a hot tub in Devon: You want spectacular style with no-holds-barred comfort? Then you've come to the right place. Say 'howdy' to our iconic Airstream 1234. She's retro a-go-go . . .

General

Super-shiny, sleek and chic - there's no doubt that Airstream 1234 is eye-poppingly gorgeous, a retro-modern blend of vintage cool with contemporary luxury. If you thought you only got air con, underfloor heating, wifi and a power shower in a bricks-and-mortar holiday let - well, think again. This little beauty, a Sovereign of the Road model built in 1956, has been lavishly restored to 21st century standards, with all mod cons (and we really do mean all) provided for your ultimate enjoyment.

Once owned by a member of Wally Byam's Caravanners Club (he was the founder of Airstream trailers, you know), Airstream 1234 still boasts window stickers from a 1961 Omaha, Nebraska meeting on her windows. Now there's authenticity for you. Inside, she has a comfy double bed with Egyptian cotton linens, a squashy banquette sofa, a dining table that can seat four and a fully equipped to-die-for kitchen finished in glossy walnut. There's a flat-screen TV, sound system, wi-fi, full-size combi oven with induction hob, fridge and dishwasher, bathroom with power shower, fluffy towels and a proper flushing toilet, even the aforementioned underfloor heating and air conditioning for year-round comfort. Warm in winter; cool in summer. Clever, huh? It's all done in ingeniously space-saving fashion, combining retro-style fittings with a suitably Sixties colour palette of dark brown, burnt orange and chrome. Yum. What more could one possibly want?

If you can tear yourself away from the Airstream's glamourpuss décor, step outside and you'll find she's tucked into a private, south-facing corner of 20 acres of rolling South Devon countryside. Partly surrounded by trees and with her own flower-bordered patio (complete with electric hot tub!), she overlooks the glorious grounds and beautiful lake of Little Coombe Farm, where you can lounge in the hammock and watch the wild birds and iridescent dragonflies while enjoying your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Why not play some pool, table football or table tennis in the on-site shared games-room or how about a game of tennis on the tennis court (don't forget to bring your own rackets and balls!). And just to prove that nothing has been forgotten, a nearby outhouse has a washing machine and storage space for your boots and coats.

Now it's down to you. Get busy with the bbq, while away the hours in the hot tub or just sit and do nothing. Star gazing or navel gazing. The choice is yours.

Out and About

Airstream 1234 is just a mile from the pretty riverside village of Dittisham, which boasts two pubs and an excellent seafood café. Catch crabs from the pontoon or take a short ferry ride to Greenway, the National Trust property that was once the holiday home of novelist Agatha Christie. Stunning Blackpool Sands is the nearest beach, a ten-minute drive, while Bantham is only half an hour away and is great for surfing - or simply spend the day looking round the great range of shops in funky Dartmouth, down the road, where there are also some fantastic places to eat and drink. Fancy hiring a motor boat, a sailing boat, a kayak, a paddle board or a mountain bike? Easy peasy - all are available locally. The world is, as they say, truly your lobster here.
