Glamping in Cornwall: It's groovy, baby - our pod-tastic Hideaway is far, far from the madding crowd, but just a hop skip and jump from glorious beaches and some of Cornwall's most charming towns. After a sunset barbecue or two at this magical, secluded spot, we reckon you'll never want to leave.

General

When was the last time you really, truly got away from it all? Went barefoot in the grass, gazed up at the stars, listened to the sound of birdsong? May we present… The Hideaway. Tucked quietly in the corner of a faraway field, this funky little glamping pod is the ideal place to retreat from the hassles and hooplas of the modern world and rediscover your inner zen (joss sticks optional).

Cuter than cute, these Hobbity pods not only look eye-poppingly amazing but also earn green points for sustainability - they're highly insulated and double glazed so as to be super-cosy in the winter and chilled out in the summer. Shivering in an old-fashioned tent? No thanks. Arched ceilings and a contemporary, open-plan design give you a living area, central dining space, kitchen - jam-packed with an electric hob, mini oven, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster and iPod dock - and two sweet and comfy bedrooms (a double and a twin) off to the sides. Needless to say, for total luxury camping comfort there's an en suite shower, wash-basin and loo, an electric heater for chilly evenings and even a nearby outhouse with a washing machine and heated towel rail (toasty warm towels, yippee!).

The Hideaway really is hidden well away, 150 yards up a winding, unmade track (no traffic to disturb your tranquility) in a secret pocket of rural perfection. As well as the decked area to the front of your pod, on one side is a small, enclosed meadow that makes a brilliant play area for children; just around the corner is another meadow with incredible sea views that take in rolling countryside and the awesome St Michael's Mount. But don't just take our word for it - try for yourself and we know you'll be back to this spot again and again for a sundowners and a barbecue.

Out and About

For all its rural seclusion, The Hideaway is not far from the high life. Oh, okay then, it's on the outskirts of the unspoilt village of Perranuthnoe, which has high life indeed in the form of an excellent pub, a fab café and a great little beach. All just a few minutes' stroll from your pod's front door. Leave the car behind and walk the spectacular coastal path, or jump behind the wheel and in five minutes you can be at Prussia Cove or Praa Sands in one direction, or Marazion in the other, all three of them boasting outstanding beaches. Ten minutes takes you to the market town of Penzance or the charming fishing village of Porthleven, and within twenty minutes you can be exploring the shops and art galleries of St Ives, one of the UK's most popular seaside towns.
