Safari tent in Cornwall: This seaside safari tent is a perfect home from home, with acres of farmland to explore and just a stone's throw from some brilliant beaches. Back to nature with all mod cons, it's enormous fun for both young and young at heart.

General

Wild at heart but love your home comforts? Then Foxglove is your perfect solution. Luxury camping under the stars, in a to-die-for gorgeous rural spot with glimpses of the sea, yet warm, dry and snug as a bug in a rug, with proper beds, leather sofa, a full-sized dining table and instant hot water. What more could one possibly ask for...

Foxglove

A stone's throw from gorgeous Lamorna Cove (this is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, don't you know), Foxglove is one of those superb places that you'll remember forever. At one end of your canvas glamping retreat are two comfortable bedrooms (a double and a twin), and in the main living area there's also a nifty cabin bed in which to hide cosily away - it's basically just like a grown-up den. Forget roughing it - in this seaside safari tent, prettily styled with a pretty pink scheme, there's a spacious kitchen-area with a wood-fired range for cooking on (it does a great job at making the space toasty, too), a Belfast sink set into a wooden unit, a farmhouse-style dresser, a larder-fridge and all the cooking kit you might need to give Jamie a run for his money. Add a comfy sofa, a coffee table, and a wooden dining table and chairs, and you have a real home from home. There's even WiFi within the tent and a power socket for charging your laptop or phone, or boiling the kettle - perfect for your morning cuppa.

No need to tramp through wet grass when you want a shower or the loo. At the back of Foxglove - inside but can also be accessed from outside the tent - is your very own en suite shower-room, complete with hot water and walk-in double shower, and with a separate WC and wash-basin next door. This really is your very own canvas cottage.

If long, lazy, hazy days of doing nothing are your thing, then the sun loungers on Foxglove's covered deck are the place to be. Overlooking Lamorna Valley and with glimpses of the sea, it's perfectly peaceful here as there are just two other safari tents in the huge field and cars are not allowed nearby - you use a wheelbarrow to transport your stuff from the private parking area. Sit back and relax in the sun, and when you get peckish you can pull together something to eat on the deck's two-ring camping gas stove, or get down and dirty with a full-on barbie in the field. There's even an on-site honesty shop, stocked with pretty much everything you could need for a carefree break, from ice cream to bacon and eggs, if you can't face the supermarket run.

Fun for All

The kids, meanwhile, will love the fab play area and the freedom of roaming around Foxglove's eight-acre field, while the whole family can explore the surrounding 90 acres of farmland, where you might bump into livestock (take care!), the odd tractor, or the Owners' friendly dogs, cats or Silver the horse and Tommy and Freddy the Shetlands. Your field does edge onto the main farm entrance, so please be aware - the occasional car or farm machinery passes by. A man-made lake has awesome views across the valley and a short walk through woodland takes you down to picturesque Lamorna Cove, where there's a sandy beach, small quay and a café that offers canoe hire. An even shorter stroll across the fields brings you to the newly refurbished Lamorna Wink pub for a warm welcome and a great pint.

Out and About

If you fancy a change from exploring the coast and coves around Lamorna, why not hop in the car for a quick trip further afield? You shouldn't miss the amazing clifftop Minack Theatre, which is right next door to the white sandy beach and turquoise waters of Porthcurno; just a little further on are world-famous Land's End and sandy Sennen Cove, where you can catch a wave or totally wipe out with the surfing dudes. Head east from Lamorna and you're in the charming harbourside village of Mousehole, a great place to spend the day discovering its quirky shops and galleries and excellent restaurants and pubs. The bustling seaside town of Penzance, the majestic St Michael's Mount and the famous artist's town of St Ives (with its seven beaches) are just a few minutes away, too. Or you could simply stroll the South West Coast Path, build an epic sandcastle and round it all off with a glass of wine as the sun goes down on yet another fantastic day.
